The Hunger Project UK is delighted to announce Aliza Ayaz as a Charity Champion.

Aliza Ayaz is a British Pakistani sustainability strategist, climate-health advocate, and global speaker. While a student at University College London, she founded the Climate Action Society (CAS), a movement that continues to inspire youth-led climate action across the UK. She still serves as Executive Director today.

When asked about becoming a Champion for The Hunger Project UK, Aliza said;

“The journey to end hunger isn’t about giving a handout; it’s about igniting potential. The people we partner with are not passive recipients of aid, but powerful agents of change – farmers, innovators, and community leaders. My role as a Charity Champion is to advocate this truth: when we invest in people’s agency, we don’t just solve a problem, we unleash a world of possibilities.

We often treat hunger as a temporary crisis, when it’s really a symptom of broken systems. What inspires me about The Hunger Project is the focus on structural change and self-reliance. They don’t just feed communities; they unlock their ability to feed themselves, permanently. True impact begins when we see those struggling with hunger not as statistics, but as the architects of their own prosperous future.”

The Hunger Project UK Champions are a collective group of passionate, high-profile supporters who play a critical role in shining a light on global hunger and the work of The Hunger Project.

Our Champions make a huge difference to our small but mighty charity. From supporting fundraising events and campaigns, to raising awareness of our work with their audiences, they are all committed to our mission of ending world hunger and poverty.

The Hunger Project’s vision is a world without hunger. Empowered leadership is the foundation of our community-led programs. We focus on nutrition, education, climate-resilient farming, water and health. Women and girls are at the heart of our work, because inequality feeds the global hunger crisis. Our programs reach over 12 million people across Africa, South Asia and Latin America.

Please join us in welcoming Aliza and supporting our mission to end world hunger.
